Ashanti’s Cousin Was Run Over By Drunk Driver

*R&B singer Ashanti cancelled a concert over the weekend in South Africa after her cousin, 20-year-old Quinshae Snead, was killed in a drunk driving accident.

According to police, Snead was en route to Ashanti’s hotel room in Johannesburg to retrieve items for the singer in advance of her concert Saturday when the car she was riding in was rear-ended by a 17-year-old, unlicensed drunk driver.

Snead was tossed from the vehicle as it rolled over, and thrown in the path of another car in the opposite lane.

Johannesburg metro police spokesman Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar told the South African Press Association that the driver had stolen his mother's car, and “was also under the influence of liquor.”

The teenager was arrested for drunken driving and hospitalized. The driver of the car Snead was riding in also was injured and taken to hospital.

    The Game Gets Bagged

An arrest warrant has been issued for the Game in North Carolina, after he failed to appear in court on March 28, according to the Greensboro News Records. The warrant stems from an incident at a Greensboro mall last October (see "Game Arrested During Visit To North Carolina Mall"), where the rapper was arrested.Game was at the Four Seasons Town Centre in Greensboro, reportedly signing autographs while wearing a Halloween mask, when police were called because the rapper and his entourage's disruptive behavior.Three off-duty policemen arrived and asked the rapper to remove his mask and to leave the mall. When Game refused, he was arrested. When members of Game's entourage began to surround the arresting officer, another officer responded with pepper spray. The officer, who discharged the pepper spray, has been the subject of an internal investigation, but has since been cleared of any wrongdoing, according to the Greensboro News Records
"The guy had a mask on and wasn't taking it off," Sgt. Levester Thomas said. "It goes downhill from that point."
Game's publicist told MTV that the matter is expected to be resolved next week.
The rapper was in North Carolina in October for a scheduled performance at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, as part of Winston-Salem State University's 2005 Homecoming
